Networking - Understanding personalities that builds relationships

One of the most important relationship-building tools you can employ in any profession is Networking, it allows you to build a fellowship with other professionals. It allows you to develop successful partnerships, and creates a crucial presence in an individual or business. Also known as "BRANDING"

The first thing you need to do is make yourself valuable. Do some research. The information that you bring to the table shows that you are working to keep yourself updated and that you can be a valuable asset. Keep the communication to the point and professional.

Getting to know & understanding your clients personality is key to building a personal & professional relationship.

You have essentially 4 type of characteristics, but understand that not everyone falls purely within any one of these particular group.

    1) Lets start with the DISCIPLINED ones. They like to analyzes things, conversations, and situations without really thinking about it, it just comes naturally to them. Meticulous and loyal, but not much of a talker, they need time to think and evaluate your offer, so simply give them the information, give them time to think about it, then get back to them....follow up. Then ask them if they read or watched what you gave them, and ask them about it, if they have questions, you have to be very professional, answer their questions, and tell them you value their opinion, make sure you use words and sentences like: trust me, amazing, beautiful, awesome! Give them as much info as you can.

    2) Lets call them AMBITIOUS -- confident, and result-oriented, multi-tasking come naturally to them: talking business on a cell, typing, checking their e-mails.. all at the same time, "driven", and they are willing to work long and hard to go where they want to go, and they will succeed! Remember they are results-oriented. So talk about the results they will get if they use/take your product/services, they want to know what it will do, how and when! They are very strict, so you have to be very precise when answering their questions...if you don't know the answer, just tell them you don't know, but you can get the info and will get back to them with the answer......Then do it. don't leave them hanging!
    3) I like this one, we will call them PEACEMAKERS or DIPLOMATS -- this personality doesn't like conflicts, arguments or fights, they would whether have everything organized. They usually have a really good sense of humor, optimism, and a really interesting way of thinking. They can blend really well in most situations or groups, they are easygoing and also sensitive and in touch with their emotions, So when you talk to them about your product/service you should ask them what they think, they will not tell you. And ask them the right questions at the right time and you will collect the information promptly.

    4) We'll call these DYNAMIC -- everyone notices these personalities. They are the ones that stand out in a crowd. They are energetic and love talking. They are usually fun to be around because they are enthusiastic, active, changing and love to have a good time. They also love to be in the spotlight, the center of attention. They are optimistic and cheerful people. So you have to be upbeat & savvy. They are usually into the latest, greatest & best of everything. If your product/service is the newest, hottest item out, talk to them in that manner. Usually they are impulsive buyers, so armed with the right info they will buy from you on the spot.
These types of personalities will fall within 6 category:
  1. - Realistic : are hands-on when it comes to problems and solutions. They enjoy outdoor work, including working with plants, animals, wood, tools and machinery. Many realistic personalities do not enjoy handling a lot of paperwork or working closely with others. They prefer to get the work done themselves.
  2. - Artistic : like working with forms, designs and patterns. They like self-expression in their work and prefer less-structured settings without following a clear set of rules. More likely to be entrepreneurs, own their own business and the such.
  3. - Investigative : prefer ideas and thinking over physical activity. They like to search for facts and figures and solve problems mentally, preferring these types of tasks over persuading or leading people.
  4. - Social : like working, communicating and teaching people. They like to assist others and promote learning and personal development, preferring to communicate over working.
  5. - Conventional : prefer work activities with set rules and procedures. They prefer working with details and data over working with ideas. They like precise standards and having a clear line of authority to follow.
  6. - Enterprising : like to start up and carry out projects, especially business ventures. They like to lead people and make decisions, and prefer action over extensive thought.
Getting to understand the way your client thinks, can open up the dialog needed to bring that person into your circle. You want to find out what's most important to your client. Take a little time to discover your clients needs, desires and expectations. Being able to better understand what motivates them and being able to recognize how to effectively deal with others can go along way. When people understand and connect with one another, they help each other get the job done.
Also when it come to building relationship & networking:

E-mails are great and goes a long way to building a foundation, but try to meet and/or talk to them via phone

(nowadays with video conference ~ a visual connection is just as good) or with a face to face meeting. Its more personal and you have a much better chance of that person remember you.

Networking is about building relationships, so don't be afraid to communicate.

Steps taken to have your Blogs Web Presence: Getting Set-up & Connected

Steps taken to have your Blogs web presence:
 Getting Set-up & Connected

As I layout these guidelines, note the importance that each step has in relation to the relevant theme of said topic.

Hopefully, you have already put some thought into the subject matter that you plan on spreading across the web. Be sure to focus on the future direction you hope to take with your blog. Today, you are laying the foundation for bigger and better inter-action with your targeted audience.

Remember, come up with your own  subject. I am using this as example.....

  • You may have an expertise in a particular career field;
  • It may be arts & crafts
  • Hobbies that you want to showcase or of course
  • Some kind of product, service or information as a business
Your blog will be use to bring awareness, connections (links) & contacts to your internet presence.

I have taken a long standing passion about our wildlife and have started an informational blog on the plight of our environment and its effect on wildlife & our children’s' future on this planet.

BLOG started weekend of December 12th/13th, 2009

Understand that I have already collected data (information) over the years (some of you may already know of my love for lions & (tigers)

I have a plan on why, how and where I’m going with this blog already established.

Essential steps

(1st)
We want to establish some e-mail addresses:
·                    gmail.com
·                    yahoo.com
·                    There are many others, so whatever you are comfortable with will work.

I personal like google, simply because of the many options including search engine related avenues.

You will need these for opening up several accounts including your Blog.
Pay close attention to the names of your address. Get e-mail addresses that reflect the theme of your blog.

My email addresses to new blog -
·          sowsaveourwildlife@gmail.com

These addresses play a vital role in the development of your blog. They will be linked to and from your social networking site...Twitter, Facebook, Myspace and any other promotions that you will do.

(2nd)
Choose a Blog platform:

·                    Blogger.com
·                    wordpress.org
·                    Bravenet.com
·                    Typepad.com

Again, I choose Blogger (another google related venture). Because of ease of use, it's well-established, google friendly & its many options *mobile & tech applications (apps.), etc.*

(3rd)
Naming your blog:
Put serious thought into your name & title of your blog (and website)! This can be a bit tricky. As you want the names, titles, e-mail addresses to coincide not only with each other, but also with your social networking sites name and/or titles.

Here’s what I name my (example)Blog:
·                    SOW-SaveOurWildlife

(4th)
Content:
Now its time to add content to your blog...this should include text, images & video.
IMPORTANT -- Stay relevant to the theme of your blog (Don’t name your blog "All about Pool" then write about football.

·                    Researching the internet will yield you all the information needed.

·                    If you need images the internet is full of royalty- free pictures

·                    Youtube.com  has many many video clips

(5th)
Get connected.....

Begin to let the outside world KNOW you are ONLINE!
Set-up accounts on Social networking site:

Facebook -- http://www.facebook.com/SowSaveOurWildlife

Myspace -- http://www.myspace.com/sowsaveourwildlife

Linkedin -- http://www.Linkedin.com/in/wehit

  *  Look for social networking sites that specialize in your            particular area of expertise *

Submit your blog to blog directories

Optional but recommended :
·                    Set-up google account
·                    (gmail)
·                    Google adsense

There are many excellent reasons to have a google account, simply..........

Because you are online

Google is the major player when it comes to establishing an online presence.

Final Note:
As you can see from e-mail to social networking sites Words that will be used in my blog are apart of my Title, email address, social networking site name. This is extremely important because now you have multiple links tied to your blog using KEYWORD or KEYWORD PHRASES.
This makes it much easier for your site to be pick up by Google, yahoo, MSN, Bing and hundred s of other search engines.

People that you have targeted, should be using those types of words in search engine boxes, allowing extra visitors to your blog.

Now as you continue to add content to your blog, as you gather a following through your social networking sites, adding links relevant to your blog. Your online presence will continue to grow.

All at little or NO cost!

ENTREPRENEUR

Definition:

ENTREPRENEUR -- One who organizes, manages, and assumes the                                 RISK of a business or enterprise.

If  network marketing or home-based business isn't an entrepreneur, I don't know what is.

Please read the definition once again......organizes, manages & assumes the risk.

Every business offers an reasonable amount of risk.  Whether it be traditional or a home based business one has to assume the responsibility to run it as a business.

Internet marketing or Home-based business are risky, and even though they may not be classified as a franchise (in the business sense) they are micro-franchise (in the business sense).

Despite those that have fail, those that have a negative ideology about MLM, network marketing and the such......People are making an income.

Some make a little, some make a moderate amount, some make a part-time income, some make a full-time income and some even become wealthy at this.

Where one ends up at, is that persons individual responsibility to organize, manage & assume the risk as a business person.

If a person had a million dollar, an opened up a traditional business, it could very well be an different outcome for the one that has a solid background in business to that of someone with no business back-ground, to that even of one that is inexperienced, but learns to operate that business.

All day long we could go back & forward on the pros & cons of MLM and the such. But true ENTREPRENEURS will be entrepreneurs  win or lose.

Now as for me, I do this not to get wealthy.... that's the end benefit, I do this to be in my sons life.

As an entrepreneur, i'm assuming a responsibility to provide not only an income, but the opportunity to be in his life as much as humanly possible. While also providing my clients & business the necessary attention needed for continued growth.

*NOTE* When Michael Jackson passed away many of us baby-boomer stepped back to reevaluate our life's mission.

God forbid , I pass anytime soon, But I will live my life everyday being & doing something for my child, because HE (GOD) could very well one day call for me. And everyday that I show my son something new whether its is learning, doing or reinforcing the positive elements of this life is another GREAT DAY.

As a side note:

I has run or been apart of several traditional business ventures:

I've also been in sales, the military & for almost a decade in law-enforcement. This included: running a record & clothing store, a music production/record label & a mobile DJ business ( if it wasn't for my son age, this is pretty much what I would be doing now, (the DJ Biz).

I chose this path because of the benefits (including the financial) that I feel fit for my lifestyle. I love the challenge, the people I meet but more so, I assume the responsibility & risks that come with MLM, Internet marketing, Home-based business or Network marketing.

And that includes the responsibility to educate, inform & assist those that WANT to improve their knowledge in this industry so as to have a greater success.

It is OUR choice........to be an Entrepreneur.

Faith......

Free Personal Development Books - These Personal Development Books are all completely free - subjects include Success, Goal-Setting, Law of Attraction, NLP & Life Purpose!

"2013 Update" -  Above linked e-books offers are live & accessible. Video is outdated and should be untended.

In any venture that one wants to endure. The first step is the conception

The ideas or dreams of what WE want to do, where we want to be, who we can to become. All have started with a thought. Turning thoughts into reality becomes the biggest obstacle for most of us in our lifetime.

There will always be a reason not to, let say, go after this conception, this dream or goal...... "I can't do this" - "I have others things to do" or  even "Others don't believe in me!" But, what's really keeps us from achieving our full potential is our faith in ourselves!

Over the centuries, men & women have stepped out of their comfort zone. To go against the grain, to do what was believed to be un-achievable. And found that their faith & passion propelled them to levels, even they themselves thought unattainable.

As we get older, as we become mature. We tend to become more conservative in our actions. Indeed this is what maturity represents.....think before you act!  But, in the same breath we also lose our willingness to dream.

As children, our minds are filled with imagination and wonder......they (WE) wanted to be Presidents, firemen, pilots race car driver etc., and as children we wanted to do all of it.

Maturity, says that we obviously can't do or be all of these things.

You have to ask yourself, even tell yourself  "Why,  can't I do at least something now......that my childhood heart once believe in?  How close to it can I achieve it in my lifetime.

(I have 3 children, 2 are grown adults. My oldest Son , I watched him at about the age 7. perform hands on electronic assembly - One time, he took one of his sister's talking dolls and connected it to one of those singing Hallmark cards. Daughter wasn't to happy. But it was not only funny but a gleams into his natural ability. He would build car audio systems in his teens. My goodness, the mess of electronic components in his room, LOl.  As an adults he works as a cable, internet & E.S.T. electronic systems technician.

I watched my only daughter, as a little girl, line up her dolls and play school/teacher with them. Attend college to major as an business accountant. Graduate, work in her field, only to leave it and go back to school to become a teacher. Yes, she is a teacher!

She went back to school for more degrees so she could not only teacher at a school where she wanted  - there were (2) One being because it's would be where my grandchildren would be going. This coming school year, she will be teaching at the school my grandkids will attend.)

What will it take to really set the stage......what little strategies or short term goals will it take to forward one step closer to our bigger picture?

Faith!

When you really want & believe in something good, you can achieve them.  Sometimes the down side is, we lose the security of our comfort zone. The lose of something, the comfort that we are use to or what will I have to give up?

We are, in today’s society giving so much more than what we really need to survive.

Technology, its grand. But, unless we can better understanding that sometimes, in order to achieve any dream or goal - there will be sacrifices, loss! An effort is necessary on our human emotional side.

To NOT take a risk at something we have a passion for, only limits ourself to our true ability. Our true calling. This is where believing in your ability. Having real faith.....that Good overcomes the bad. That with failures, setbacks or even hard-times it will bring lessons to be learned.

Look .....Knowledge stems from doing, learning & attempting things challenging to our comfort circle of life. In doing so, you simply grow! Success, failure, ups, downs, fast or slow becomes lessons learned and wisdom fostered.

Doing things that are for the good & wellbeing of others may have their tribulations & struggles , but believing in yourself while having a strong faith, and you will prevail.

Believe in something or you will fall for anything!

Important tips to consider when designing your website or blog......

There is just one particular concept that one has to keep in mind when designing or even while revising (adding content, information, etc.,)your website. You want your site to be picked up by the search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo, MSN) no matter what type of website you design. This can be free traffic (visitors) to your site if it is optimized correctly. I can not stress this enough, if no one knows your site is on the web, and then no one can visit you on the web!

The only traffic that you will get will be the traffic that you have directly link to it, say from blogs, or social networking sites. Less traffic means less chance people will see your information.(content). If you are selling anything, well then no one can buy from you! And believe me, when consumers are ready to spend their hard earn money, they will find a place to spend it.

Hopefully, by this point, you know exactly what your websites theme will be about. This is now the time to focus on a niche within your theme. For example, let's say your site will be about Cars. The niche will be where you narrow down a particular segment about cars. Will it be about Classic cars, race cars maybe it will focus only on American made cars. Will you be providing information about the care of automobiles, engine maintenance, maybe after-market products? Whatever the case may be, you want to define or target a group or groups within that theme and this will become your niche market, your target market.

Once you have done this, start writing content about this, I say, start writing now, because out of this writings, 3 more important elements will emerge, that will boost your rankings in the search engine (Google) algorithm.

·                     Keywords,

·                     Keyword phrases

·                     Description tags.

You will take certain words and phrases from your writing that will make up your keywords & description tags. And from this point on, you want to design and write content relevant to these tags & keywords. But just as equal important, is to include a keyword into the address of your website (keep it short & easy to remember) and the title of your page.

Example: we are putting together a site aimed at after-market products for classic cars. We may want to address our page something close to -- www.Classiccarstuff.com or www.Aftermarketproducts.com. Your title should also include keywords that will be use on your page -- "Where to buy after-market products for your Classic cars".

As you can see, there are certain words being used that people will put into a search engine box.  Thereby, assisting the search engine to find your site! There are a number of free online tools, such as Google Keyword tool, that can help select the best search terms for your site. Remember that your website will serve as your main online presence and the main hub or redirecting point for all of your online promotional efforts. Your website should be distinctive, easy to navigate, and full of useful information. Many studies show that adding videos to a website increases traffic and time visitors stay on your site, look to add video that are relevant and useful to your target audience. You should become familiar with the use of basic Html code. This is the primary website design language.

Keep in mind that thousands of others are doing the same thing.....wanting to make money online!
Finding ways to be unique will take creativity, constant revisions & updates. You will have to use blogs, articles & press releases to attract (links) consumers to your website while building connections and this is just a part of the overall strategy use to boost your online presence. Visit http://www.wehit.org as I continue to provide insight & tips that will strengthens the foundation of your online endeavors.
It's Your Home based business...... (SET YOURSELF UP FOR SUCCESS!)

What you can do when your find yourself out of your main source of income?

Andrew D Hayes, EzineArticles.com Basic Author
As a single parent, life will surely test your will. With the all the activities surrounding school alone, this can become an daunting task. Trying to find time to be in your child’s life, while balancing work, furthering your own education or even some personal time while still pursuing your entrepreneur goals can become over bearing to say the least. 24hrs, in today’s fast paced society is simply not enough to truly complete all the days’ tasks. To bad there isn't a business plan for the families on the go, a family plan. LOL!

However, with that thought, that’s exactly what single parents as well as two parent families need to incorporate into their daily lives. A family plan, just like a business plan. One should at the very least write down all tasks, appointments, who does what & when it is to be done. This can give yourself the foundation, a base to focus on the important issue that needs to be accomplished for that day. Not that life still won't be trying, but with a daily plan written down, this can give you a sense of organization, thereby affording you the insight to make adjustments as your time warrants.

My personal struggle came in the form of proper child care for my 8yr old son. If I go to work early, I needed someone to get him to school, But, still needing to provide after-school care till I'm off work. Going to work later in the mornings allow me to get him to school but left me working later, which threw for most families who would care for my child, out of sync with their plans. Throw in over-time or a family that needs to be else where that evening. And I'm jeopardizing my job & not being productive in my teams’ process. To juggle 3-5 different caretakers and still miss days of work......well decisions had to be made.

As a person who strongly believe in faith & that everything happens for a reason,. My foresight to be my own boss, to work from home, was put into place for a reason. I've learnt, worked hard over the last few years to build an environment that I could control.

Unfortunately & fortunately the time came where a decision on the direction I needed to go has now brought me home to work. I can't say that it’s the idea time but when would be the perfect time when your child’s well-being is at stake. My faith ensures me that I am not giving anything I can't handle. The work/studies that I put into my business over the course of these few years will surely test my wits. As I now focus on a positive outcome of recent decisions, I know that this is for a reason, that there is a bigger picture that will be painted. And the future is my canvass and I am the paint brush! Wish me well.

So, what do you do,when you suddenly find yourself without your main source of income. I started my online business years ago so I could prepare myself for something like this. So I'm a bit ahead of the game. but I still need to supplement that income in order to stay ahead.........here are some suggestions.

Working from Home doesn't just mean working online......!

A side note to these events.....is that even though I account for my own income now! Working from home as a single parent doesn't limit ones self to just working in the home. Entrepreneurs can also exercise they talents doing odd jobs that will fit into their schedule. This can help ease the burden of a lose of your main income source till finances build with your online endeavor. Everyone has at least one other skill that can be utilized to generate some income.

Options to consider while in-between jobs or till you are comfortable with the income from your business.......

  • Baby Sitting –  If you enjoy kids and are good with them, this can be a fun and easy way to make a little cash.

You can make decent money with few months of solid, committed effort
  • CashCrate - At Cashcrate.com complete the free offers. Try signing up for the affiliate program..
  • Cleaning houses/offces –

  • Delivering Pizzas - self-explanatory
  • Drive the elderly to appointments or scheduled events –

  • Lawn Care – Raking leaves or shoveling snow.
  • Look for freelance jobs online - Try doing a Google search for freelance jobs in your fields of expertise.
  • Look for Odd Jobs - People in your town need your help and they will pay you for it. Seriously. The jobs are there on Craigslist.com
